The terms for using BoomVersity, a product of JD Vortex: what the platform is, who may use it, what the record is, and what the platform does not do.

01Who we are

BoomVersity is a product of JD Vortex, a business based in Ontario, Canada (“JD Vortex”, “we”, “us”).

These terms cover the public site at boomversity.com and accounts on the platform at app.boomversity.com. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to them, together with the Privacy policy and the Acceptable use rules.

02What the platform is

BoomVersity carries study-abroad applications between agencies, students, families and colleges, and keeps a record of each step.

It is a pilot. It works with colleges across Canada outside Quebec; agencies and students can be anywhere. Colleges join one at a time, by email first and then through the college portal.

03Who may use it

Agencies are reviewed before they can file. A reviewed agency is responsible for the accuracy of what it files and for having the student’s permission to file it.

Students use the file their agency opens for them. A student under 18 needs a parent or guardian’s approval. The guardian verifies their recorded email address with a one-time code before viewing or answering, and the approval and the verification are recorded on the file.

Colleges use the portal through staff accounts the college controls. Decisions recorded on a file are the college’s own.

04Your account

Keep your sign-in to yourself and tell us at once if you think someone else has used it. Invitation links, guardian links and email codes are personal and must not be forwarded.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the Acceptable use rules, that files on a student’s behalf without their permission, or that puts other people’s information at risk.

05The record

Every document version, request, approval and decision on a file is kept as an event with a time and a name. It is shown to the agency, the student, the guardian and the college for that file, and to no one else.

The record is not edited after the fact. A correction is a new event that shows what changed and why.

06What the platform does not do

BoomVersity does not give immigration advice, does not act for any college and does not make admission decisions. Letters, conditions and enrolments are written and issued by the college under its own name.

The platform does not publish fees. Any fee is a matter between a student and the agency they work with. Commissions between colleges, JD Vortex and agencies are covered by separate written agreements, not by these terms.

07AI program suggestions

Agencies can ask for program suggestions produced with an AI service. Suggestions are a starting point to check against the college’s own information. They are not advice, not a promise of admission and not a study-permit assessment; the agency remains responsible for what it recommends.

08Availability and responsibility

The pilot is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and the record accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors, and features may change.

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, or for decisions made by colleges, agencies or immigration authorities. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law.

09Ending the pilot or your account

We may pause or end the pilot with notice to the people on open files. Open files remain available to download for a reasonable period afterwards.

You can close your account at any time by writing to us. What happens to your information afterwards is set out in the Privacy policy.

10Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top is the version that applies, and we will tell account holders about changes that matter.

11Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Ontario, unless the law where you live gives you another choice.
